These tips were all broken off from mature stands during the Loma Prieta (San Francisco) earthquake of 1989.

Cactus Kate called me - "Come on down and fill your car with tips..."

All my San Pedro are descendant's of these plants.

No bare root plants!

Your cactus ships in its container with all soil; just unpack carefully. Let it sit for a few days away from direct sun. After a couple days give it some water. After five days gradually introduce to brighter light and increase watering, etc. This allows any fine root hairs broken by shipping & handling to heal and re-grow.

Bare rooting kills the delicate roots, dries & shrivels them up
requiring months to nurse back to health before they grow again. I will never ship "bare root". Just because "Everyone else bare roots" doesn't mean I do it.

The mother of your San Pedro cactus
Any of the plants I sell can become this large. In 3-4 years the size of a person, in 7-10 the mass of an SUV!

(left) One of Cactus Kate's stands of decades old San Pedro; authentic Trichocereus Pachanoi. I harvested this entire plant in 2006 before the property was sold after Kate's death.

This is the real deal San Pedro! These rapidly growing plants top out at about 14 feet - then tips break off during storms.

The plants live on for decades by self rooting pieces that break off, or by pups that become new columns.

From a single cutting you can have a massive cluster of columns about 12 feet tall in 8 to 10 years.
